Thermal Imaging Can Indicate Risk Levels

Statistics indicate that 15% of all breast cancers occur between the ages of 20 and 44, and the risk increases with age. Current research indicates that every 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will get breast cancer in their lifetime. Women without children and also women who have had their first child after age 30, also seem to be at higher risk. However, every women is at risk of developing breast cancer.

About the Procedure for Breast Thermography

There will be a 15 minutes temperature acclimation period where you will be disrobed from the waist up. Multiple images are then taken from different angles. You will then emerse your hands in ice water for 45 seconds, and then more images will be taken. Stimulation of the sympathetic nervous system (cold water) , causes a near shutdown of the normal blood vessels in the breast. The blood vessels supplying a cancerous tumor will not respond as they are held open by the tumors chemical effects. Consequently, dynamic digital thermal subtraction gives us the possibility of isolating the vessels that supply nutrients to the tumor. This test ultimately raises the suspicion that a cancerous tumor might be present.
